Innovations are proud to announce the completion of a recent refurbishment at Holiday Inn Express Leicester. Located next to the Leicester City Football Ground, the hotel’s lobby and reception area have been refreshed, coinciding with the recent success of the football teams’ promotion into the Premier League.
The works involved transforming the lobby; combining the reception,breakfast area, lounge and business centre into one integrated space. A new business centre provides guests with a purpose built connectivity table, free wifi and power outlets in every area. While the addition of a brand new coffee area allows guests the opportunity to relax and unwind.
The concept has successfully created an interactive space with multifunctional zones. Designed specifically to encompass the varied guests’ needs, whether attending a meeting, travelling alone, with kids or with colleagues, there is an area to suite everyone.
Holiday Inn Express Leicester is the second hotel in the IHG group Innovations has now successfully refurbished, following the refurbishment of Holiday Inn Camden Lock which featured the Open Lobby Concept.

Nestled in the heart of bustling Camden Town, the Camden Lock Holiday Inn offers
guests a stylish, cosmopolitan base from which to take full advantage of London’s
Following a recent and extensive refurbishment of its communal areas by principal
contractor, Innovations, the hotel is now the second in Europe to feature the
InterContinental Hotels Group’s (IHG) progressive Open Lobby concept.
Combining the front desk, restaurant, bar, lounge and business centre into one
cohesive space, this concept primarily embraces the trend towards unconventional
working hours, and the consequent and growing demand for informal meeting spaces.
With flexible seating and working areas – complete with HD TVs and Apple
iMac computers – a cafe and even a pop-up cinema spread over its two floors, the
hotel’s lobby is now far more than a superfluous reception space, acting instead as a
welcoming home from home designed to meet guests’ every need.
This intelligent layout is coupled with an unpretentious, yet characterful interior
scheme, conceived by Dexter Moren Associates’ team of specialist interior designers.
Drawing inspiration from the local area, the team has included subtle references to
Camden’s famed markets and lively music venues through its assortment of furniture
styles and quirky ornaments.
Skilfully executed by Innovations and Dexter Moren Associates, the refurbishment is
a significant step in IHG’s plan to refresh its in-hotel experience.

Following a previous refurbishment in 2012, Innovations carried out the
recent rebrand, design and refurbishment of the Comfort Inn Westminster.
Successfully creating a new visual identity, the design for the lobby
encompasses a bespoke book case and practical work space, with
comfortable seating area. The hotel will be the third in the 4C Hotel Group
that Innovations has successfully refurbished, including Comfort Inn
Victoria and Holiday Inn Camden Lock, featuring the Open Lobby Concept.
